The 2024-2025 FAFSA is available; FDTC will receive FAFSA data in late March/early April
The 2024-2025 FAFSA is available for you to complete. The U.S. Department of Education has launched the overhauled 2024-25 FAFSA; however, schools won't begin to receive FAFSA data until mid-March (at the earliest), which means we won't be able to notify students that FDTC has received their application until late March or early April. More specific timelines will be posted here when announced.
SC Tax Information:
To help ease the financial burden for South Carolina college students and their families, the South Carolina General Assembly has created an income tax credit for tuition paid to South Carolina colleges and universities. To claim the credit, a Form SC 1040 must be filed. When preparing the South Carolina income tax return, Form I-319 Tuition Tax Credit must be completed. This form is included with all state individual income tax booklets. For more information about the tax credit, please visit the South Carolina Tuition Tax Credit website.
3. Receive Award Letter
If you have included FDTC’s school code (003990) on the FAFSA and applied to FDTC, the Financial Aid office will send an email to your school email address once your award has been made. You will then be able to view your award on your self service account. This letter will list all of the federal, state and institutional grants/scholarships you are eligible to receive. FDTC does not automatically package student loans on your account. If you want a student loan, you will need to complete the Loan Request form at forms.fdtc.edu after your other financial aid has been awarded.
Some grants and scholarships cannot be processed until your final high school transcript is received in admissions.
